About the Alamance Kennel Club

The Alamance Kennel Club was started by area dog fanciers in 1948 to encourage and promote the sport of purebred dogs. The club urges its members to accept the official standard of their respective breed, as approved by the American Kennel Club, as the only standard of excellence by which their breed will be judged.

We provides education and information to the general public on purebred dogs and the sport of dogs, whether it is in conformation, obedience, or other disciplines.

The Alamance Kennel Club is not operated for profit and gives to local agencies, charities, and public institutions monies earned from holding two licensed American Kennel Club shows each year.
